How nice it is to see David Moyes bidding £10m for Yakubu and £11m for Manuel Fernandes. Just one month ago, Moyes said, "I've been a supporter, in fact I still am a supporter, but we're always quite cagey here and we don't give too much away partly because people know that we don't have the funds to compete at the top end."

So in a month, his club have got £21m to spend on two different players, who play in different positions? Yes, it isn't 100% that he made those bids, but it's highly likely. Selling James Beattie would have helped too, but the rest of the money came from somewhere, maybe it was just a lie to keep fan's happy.

Beattie was signed for £6m, and was unsuccesful for Everton, yet they still got £4m for him, he is still a good player. With Beattie on board I think Sheffield United will do well, they have only lost Jaglieka and Davis, and have also made some shrewd signings, including Billy Sharp. They will be determined to bounce back after last years shambles, where the panel deciding West Ham's fate thought their fans were more important than those of other clubs and also justice.

Fantasy Football. Every year I pay to do this, and I never seem to win. Yet the hope is still there, and this year I've switched papers. After 4 years of The Telegraph, I've switched to The Sun, which means I don't have to make constant transfers, which suits me.

As usual I've decided to invest in my attacking players, Ronaldo, Drogba and Rooney are all in, as I hope they have good seasons again. In defence I've picked John Arne Riise and Chris Samba, two defenders who keep clean sheets and score a few goals. My other two defenders are slightly more likely to concede, but I hope their new managers will sort that out. David Rozenhal and Chris Baird are the two. David James completes a cheap back 5. Also in midfield I've backed Geremi and Mikel Arteta to get assists and the odd goal, while Benni McCarthey completes my strong frontline.

Maybe this year, I might win something.
